Guard Rail
Fall Protection Solutions design, supply and install an extensive range of permanent guard rail for roof edge protection from a select list of manufacturers. A roof survey and review of the client’s requirements is used to refine this choice.
Guard Rail Fixing Options
Guard rail is provided to fix to the top or the side of a low parapet or other supporting structure, or direct to the roof with appropriate flashings. Alternatively the guard rail can be self supporting through the use of counter weights, or ‘top fixed’ to metal sheeting.
Guard Rail Material
For ultimate maintenance free longevity aluminium guard rail options are recommended. For those wishing to keep to a tighter budget galvanised mild steel would be the preferred choice.
Guard Rail Aesthetics
As the crown on top of a building the look of the guard rail will often be an important consideration. A choice of curved, angled or straight guard rail each produces a very different look. Appearances can be further enhanced through the powder coating of a guard rail in any desired colour. By using thinner rail options and angling the guard rail away from the edge a more discrete form of protection can be provided. Foldable guard rail can also be installed. This system lies flat on the roof and can be easily pivoted into position as required.
Safety
All guard rail specified conforms to The Working at Height Regulations 2005, EN 13 374 and where appropriate E N 12 122-3. Installation is undertaken by highly competent CSCS approved operatives with the relevant training and insurances in place.
